Over the past six years, Utah has made progress addressing intergenerational poverty. The progress is not being made through the establishment of new government programs or significant increases in financial resources. Rather, it has been through the slow development of an equitable system designed to ensure opportunity for all Utah children. After all, the goal is not to have a parallel system of government serving children experiencing intergenerational poverty, but to ensure those children are experiencing success from existing systems in the same way other Utah children experience it.
