Transcend Together is a non-profit, public policy think tank headquartered in Utah. We are conservative advocates for those who are poor and disadvantaged. Our mission is to lift every person in need to prosperity and self-reliance through sound public policy that affirms each person’s human dignity and allows for every opportunity to flourish.
We are offering an internship for students or recent graduates for the fall of 2021. We prefer graduate students, but college students are welcome to apply. Interns will gain practical experience in all aspects of the organization, including policy research and writing, legislation, public outreach, and fundraising.
Conduct research in policy areas such as intergenerational poverty, self-reliance, employment, housing, and assisting disadvantaged groups like former prisoners, refugees, and ethnic and racial minorities
Write research reports, op-eds, blog articles, and more
Attend legislative committee meetings and assist in the legislative process
Reach out to the public and help gain allies through social media and other means
Identify fundraising opportunities and assist in the grant-writing process
Other duties as needed and assigned
A strong interest in our mission and in public policy
Exceptional research and writing skills
An ability to communicate effectively with others
Very high attention to detail
A strong desire to learn and improve
Experience in public policy research and writing (preferred but not required)
The internship is unpaid but will provide meaningful experience and will be a great résumé builder; you may earn academic credit if your institution approves it
The internship can be full-time or part-time, and the hours are flexible; the start and end dates are also flexible
You will work remotely and will need your own computer and any other equipment needed to perform the job
